It will extend beyond telecommunications into transportation, manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, and energy, among other industries. However, many issues will need to be resolved to determine how the various stakeholders will fare.

Mr. Thies is a vice president and credit analyst in the Newport Beach office, focusing on the telecommunications and food and beverage industries. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2014, he worked for the Federal Reserve, conducting research on energy and financial markets. Previously, he was an analyst at Goldman Sachs, focused on underwriting financing solutions for mid-sized companies. He has 12 years of investment and financial services experience and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School. He received an undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University.
